Like many of you, I am heartbroken for our neighbors who have lost their loved ones, homes, towns, communities and lives. The devastation I have witnessed is overwhelming. Is it possible to make any sense of this? If, in the midst of all any sense can be made, perhaps there is this...
As you scream, I don't see you as liberal or conservative. As you struggle to survive another minute, I don't give a damn about your sexual preference. (not that I did anyway) I see you as my fellow American. My spiritual brother and sister. This is when the good is shown in times of disaster.
All I see is your fear, pain, and helplessness. Your hurting and need of rescue, comfort, and shelter.
God bless you who have been affected by this tragedy. I give thanks for the selfless love of God in action being demonstrated through your neighbors and first responders who are risking their lives to come to your aid. Because, that's what we do. Through the worst, comes out our best.
